“Other seed fell in the gravel; it sprouted, but withered because it didn’t have good roots.” ~~Jesus

We know there can be a problem. There is the early enthusiasm of hear Jesus and knowing him. But the enthusiasm doesn’t go very deep. It is all emotion and superficial. Nothing really changes much other than a commitment to go to a church building that is very entertaining. It is all a fad.

And when the first bit of trouble comes, puff, the commitment is gone.

Jesus challenges us not to be this way. We need to seize the Word we hear from Him. We need to hold on to what we hear no matter what. We need to persist and stick with it. That is the challenge from Jesus. We need to have good roots.

“Other seed fell in the gravel; it sprouted, but withered because it didn’t have good roots.” ~~Jesus (Luke 8:6 The Message)

The barbecue is one piece of outdoor equipment
that you will likely have for a long time. The most common form of
barbecue smoker, an offset smoker features
two chambers – a fire box, which creates smoke, and an adjoining chamber where
the food is cooked. The secret of a excellent BBQ recipe is truly
from the marinade and top quality of the pork.
