What does God have in mind for us?

God is getting us into the shape for the goal He has for us. We need to desire reaching that goal like nothing else. We need the discipline to stay the course. We know He has a goal for us. We know it is a grand and glorious plan.

That goal is simple but not easy.

May I be ready.

Will I keep my eye on the goal?

February 21, 2013 Leave a comment

We need to keep our eyes on the goal. We want all that God has for us. When we want something else He clears our eyes and blurred vision out. We are on the right track. We have taken the right road. We must stay on it.

Now I know that I don’t have it all together. I haven’t made it. With His help, I am on my way though. Together we are well on our way. He has reached out for me. He has reached out for you. Together we are experts.

We are off and running. We can reach the goal. It is a wonderful prize.

May we have supernatural courage.

Fear looks. Faith jumps – and never fails to obtain God’s goal!

November 24, 2012 2 comments

When Jesus says “Jump”, we jump. That is the essence of faith.

Our enemy. fear, whispers in our ear to look around and see what bad things could happen to us. We become afraid, loose faith and don’t achieve God’s goal.

Fear looks. Faith jumps – and never fails to obtain God’s goal!

Is God making everything new?

October 26, 2012 Leave a comment

He walks over to me. He reaches out His hand. Slowly He wipes away my tears. He dries them off very carefully. No more mourning. No more crying. No more pain. That is all in the past. The new plan has kicked in. He is making everything according to the new plan. His goal and His strategy is now the order of the day. Not there yet but closer every day. He is in control. He is in power and will bring every aspect of the plan to a close. He executes every detail. No worry or concern.

I can count on it. It is a fact. I can write it down for He is faithful to bring it all to pass. The new plan is done.

‘He will wipe every tear from their eyes. There will be no more death’ or mourning or crying or pain, for the old order of things has passed away.’ He who was seated on the throne said, ‘I am making everything new!’ Then he said, ‘Write this down, for these words are trustworthy and true.’ He said to me: ‘It is done. Has the problem of missing God’s goal for our life been solved for good?

Has the problem of missing God’s goal for our life been solved for good? Yes, it has. Our Messiah and Master, Jesus, has done it for us and the whole world.

God has a plan for us. He has a goal in mind. We miss it. That is so frustrating. We have good news though, Jesus has solved that problem for us. His sacrifice of death paid the penalty for us all. We all have a debt to pay to God for our rebellion. Jesus paid it for us.

“When he served as a sacrifice for our missing God’s goal (sins), he solved the sin problem for good—not only ours, but the whole world’s. ” ~~Apostle John  (1 John 2:1 The Message)

“When you manipulate words to get your own way, you go wrong..” ~~Jesus

August 8, 2012 3 comments

We miss God’s goal when our goal is to get our own way. Jesus stops us dead in our track by saying it like it is. That approach is wrong. We are wrong when we do it. Manipulation is a huge problem. It is core to the culture in this world. We are steeped in it. It is “dead dog” wrong.

Jesus has a better way. In everything we do, we must strive to hear God and do what He wants. No manipulating people to get our own way. Only knowing what God wants and that is to love.

“When you manipulate words to get your own way, you go wrong..” ~~Jesus

Thank you Jesus for making it clear.

What happens when I miss God’s goal for me?

August 5, 2012 2 comments

God has a goal for us. He has one today. Will we hit the mark? Will we miss His goal?

If we do miss it, we have a friend sitting in the presence of God who has never missed it. He took our sin on Himself. He is like a priest advocating for us to God our Father. He sits right next to God. He is in right standing with God. He has solved the missing His goal (sin) problem for good.

Now this is good news for sure.

“But if anyone does miss God’s goal (sin), we have a Priest-Friend in the presence of the Father: Jesus the Messiah, righteous Jesus.” ~~Apostle John  (1 John 2:1 The Message)

“I write this, dear children, to guide you out of missing God’s goal for your life.” ~~Apostle John

John has a focus for his message to us. It is one we ought to all make the most of. God has a goal for our life. Without Jesus, we miss it. We shouldn’t. We don’t have to.

God is in a good mood. We have help in understanding how  to meet God’s goal. We have help in living a life of power, in God’s Spirit to hit the mark.

And John is clear about the goal. It is to love one another. It is to love everyone we come in contact with. God’s goal is love.

“I write this, dear children, to guide you out of missing God’s goal for your life (sin).” ~~Apostle John (1 John 2:1 The Message)

What is God’s new plan for us?

Our Father had a new plan for us. It wasn’t based on the old plan where sacrificing could cover up for us missing the goal that God has for us. Nope. No more “things to do” to be in right standing. Now that is good news.

Jesus took care of all of that. Nothing left we can do to get right with God. Now Jesus has taken His seat of honor next to our Father. It is the seat of absolute perfection right alongside God. Not even angels have that kind of honor. Angels have a special place with God. Jesus is way above that. Jesus is the faithful Son. God celebrates what Jesus did for us.

What is permanent in life. Not the things we think most days. Jesus is clear. The 2 most important things, as Jesus highlights, are to love God and love everyone else (our neighbors). That will never go away. God say it and it is the way things work in his new world. That is His goal for us. We have been given a clear mission. No need to think of “what is our mission” kind of stuff. God’s law is about relationships and it is alive and working in us.

Jesus is clear.
