Who is the King of Glory?
Our enemy seeks to kill, steal and destroy. Our God is God. He is great. Nothing is impossible with Him. He is a warrior.
Let the King of Glory come in!!
- The LORD is a warrior; the LORD is his name. (Ex. 15:3 NIV)
- The LORD will march out like a mighty man, like a warrior he will stir up his zeal; with a shout he will raise the battle cry and will triumph over his enemies. (Isa. 42:13 NIV)
- But the LORD is with me like a mighty warrior; so my persecutors will stumble and not prevail. (Jer. 20:11 NIV)
- Lift up your heads, O you gates; be lifted up, you ancient doors, that the King of glory may come in. Who is this King of glory? The LORD strong and mighty, the LORD mighty in battle. (Ps. 24:7–8 NIV)
What can God do?
Jesus had been talking with a rich man about some difficult things. He wasn’t willing to give up his possessions to follow Jesus. He left a very sad man. Jesus commented about how hard it is for the rich to really get into God’s world. The disciples were stunned and were wondering how anyone could get in. All things are possible with God is the simple but profound answer.
May I see God’s power at every turn.
Jesus looked at them and said, “With man this is impossible, but not with God; all things are possible with God.” Mark 10:27
God can do and will do that which no man would ever think of trying
I have great memories of a time I spent in the mountains of North Carolina in the early 1970’s. I spent 3 summers there. Fortunately I have a few of my journals from that time.
I came to know this at the time. God is still saying the same thing now. He has been demonstrating it throughout all of eternity.
God can do and will do that which no man would ever think of trying.
— Thoughts from the summer of 1975 at “Disciplined Life in Christ”, Inn of the Last Resort, Franklin, NC
Is Jesus dominating more today than the day before?
Is Jesus dominating more today than the day before? Is Jesus dominating every interest in my life? Is it happening?
So here is a check list:
- Is Jesus dominating how I go about my work? Do I check with Him before I make decisions about my focus during the day?
- Is Jesus dominating what my family is spending time doing?
- Is Jesus dominating what I do in my spare time? Do I check with Him first?
May I allow Jesus to rule my life, every interest I have.
“Is Jesus Christ more and more dominating every interest of my life?” ~~Oswald Chambers
What is God up to?
Here is a truth we need to remember.
When there’s NOTHING left you can do about a situation remember this.
When you’re down to nothing God’s up to Something!
God is God
God is God. What if some do not have faith? Will their lack of faith zero out God’s faithfulness? Not at all! We may not understand it but it is true.
God is God. End of story. Game over.
How many hairs do you have on your head?
“We cannot but admit that not even the least thing takes place unless it is ordered by God. For who have ever been so concerned and curious as to find out how much hair he has on his head? There is no one. God, however, knows the number. Indeed, nothing is too small in us or in any other creature, not to be ordered by the all-knowing and all-powerful providence of God.”
We know God and He delights in impossibilities. He always asks “Is anything too hard for me?”
I am so very thankful for our God.
What does our God delight in? He delights in impossibilities. What does God say? Nothing is anything too difficult for me.
Nothing is too hard for God. Nothing is impossible to Him.
We know God and He delights in impossibilities. He always asks “Is anything too hard for me?”

May we focus on God’s opportunities and not worry about our competence. He is willing and able. He is God!!
God gives us opportunities every day. We all know it is true. So look back a few years.
How much of what we have missed in life is due to missing God’s opportunities or our own incompetence?
We worry so much about ourselves and miss what God wants to do through us. Let’s get with it. Let’s get with God.

What can’t God do?
What can’t God do? It is a simple question. The silence around this one is deafening.
There is nothing He can’t do. Nothing is impossible with Him. Not a single thing. Nada.
May we all have supernatural courage. Let’s give it up for God!! He is so good. He is so great.
He is God.

Is God over the hill?
He is not over the hill. He is not past His prime. He is God. He is great.
He is the same today as He was yesterday. He will be the same tomorrow. He always has been. He always will be. God is!!
The God who created this universe is our Father. Nothing is impossible with Him. Everything is possible with Him.

Should I try to read between the lines?
Paul is clear about Jesus. His writing is clear about God. God’s word is clear.
There is no “I wonder what he meant” kind of stuff with God. He is in charge in His world (Kingdom). He always has been. He always will be.
What God wants to happen will. There is no doubt about that. It is clear that His desires will be achieved.
It is clear that nothing is impossible with God. He can do anything. He is God.
He is our loving Father. He has wonderful things in store for us. He is in a great mood.

Where is Jesus now?
Jesus is now in heaven sitting at the right hand of God. This is central to our faith and believe. He came to earth, He died for us, He was physically raised from the dead in a resurrected body AND He is now in control. God has given everything over to Jesus.
Do we believe this? Does our daily life reflect that fact? Do we allow our actions to reflect it?
Dear Theophilus, in the first volume of this book I wrote on everything that Jesus began to do and teach until the day he said good-bye to the apostles, the ones he had chosen through the Holy Spirit, and was taken up to heaven. (Acts 1:1 The Message)

How did GOD think of that?
A guest blog from my good friend Debra McKnight.
I can see God’s mind-blowing handy work all around me. Here are just a few:
The Universe. It goes on forever. How does it do that?
Diversity of Life. From plants to animals. If you look at the diversity of just something like little unimportant beetles- there are over 500,000 different kinds of them. Amazing.
Gravity. Magnetism. Electricity. How did He come up with those?
Rain. Water drops on our heads from the clouds, nourishes the world and then evaporates back into the atmosphere again. God is the original Recycler.
Procreation. A woman. A man. A new life grows INSIDE the woman. That’s just bizarre when you think about it.
Love. Forgiveness. Resurrection. Salvation. Wow!Our God is indeed God. And He is Good. And He is GREAT!
And while you’re here, let me ask YOU. What do you see that makes you wonder “How did He think of that?”
Should we wear crash helmets to church? Are you ready to be lashed to your pew?
Annie Dillard has one of the best quotes on church. She is an unbeliever as best I can tell. She knows, however, that if you believe in GOD you better be prepared for who GOD is. He is explosive in His ability and desire to do what we all think can’t be done. So why don’t churches, for the most part, act that way?
Do you have your crash helmet on? Are you ready to be lashed to your pew?
Why do people in church seem like cheerful, brainless tourists on a packaged tour of the Absolute? … Does anyone have the foggiest idea what sort of power we blithely invoke? Or, as I suspect, does no one believe a word of it? The churches are children playing on the floor with their chemistry sets, mixing up a batch of TNT to kill a Sunday morning. It is madness to wear ladies’ straw hats and velvet hats to church; we should all be wearing crash helmets. Ushers should issue life preservers and signal flares; they should lash us to our pews. For the sleeping GOD may wake someday and take offense, or the waking GOD may draw us to where we can never return.
Is God slow?
God is not slow. At least, not like some people think of slowness.
God, however, is patient. And that is a good thing for us. Think about it. He doesn’t want us to perish. He is the perfect Father we never had. He just wants to give us all time to change our minds about who is in charge. Hint?? God is in charge.
So let us be thankful that God is patient and not complain that He seems slow. It is to our advantage.
God is charge — always.
This is true but not always easy to remember and act on. God is God. He can do anything. He will do what He wants.
Our job is to align with and act on what He wants to have happen at any given moment.
Is God two-faced?
He isn’t fickle. No way at all. There is nothing in Him that is two-faced. He couldn’t be deceitful if He wanted to. It just isn’t in His nature. He isn’t wishy washy. He doesn’t say one thing and do another.
What He says is true. He has brought me to life using the true nature of His word. When He says it, I can count on it. That’s good stuff to be sure.
Who is in charge?
Who is Jesus? The very Son of God who, as man, died for us and is now resurrected. But in His resurrection, God has put Him in charge of everything. Nothing is exempt at all. Not a single thing.
So, how long will he be in charge? Imagine billions and billions of years. Imagine it never ending. That is hard to get my mind around some days because this is a world where things come to an end. In Jesus, who is in charge of everything forever, I live and have the same life. This is His gift to me.
All this energy issues from Christ: God raised him from death and set him on a throne in deep heaven, in charge of running the universe, everything from galaxies to governments, no name and no power exempt from his rule. And not just for the time being, but forever. Ephesians 1:20 via Ephesians | YouVersion.
Jesus sometimes calls on us to sell everything we own. What will my reaction be when He asks me to do that?
Jesus is not interested in being a “respectable religious leader”. He is in charge of everything. Seriously. Believe it
Can we out-god God?
No, we can’t. God is God. Peter laid in on the line with the early Christians who wanted to maintain the old agreement about the religious rules and regulations. He wasn’t having any of it. He knew something that is the main thing.
We can’t out-god God! We can try to reach God by being good but it won’t work. It is only out of His generosity that we move beyond missing the mark and operate in the realm where we fulfill His every desire. Keeping the rules won’t get is into His world. He has a new plan that has nothing to do with that. God is God. And God is great. Nothing is impossible with Him.
“So why are you now trying to out-god God, loading these new believers down with rules that crushed our ancestors and crushed us, too? Don’t we believe that we are saved because the Master Jesus amazingly and out of sheer generosity moved to save us just as he did those from beyond our nation? So what are we arguing about?” Acts 15:10-11
“After Job had interceded for his friends, God restored his fortune—and then doubled it!” Job 42:10
Am I praying for my friends and family? How much time do I spend interceeding for them? None? Some? Enough?
Job was in a world of hurt. He had lost everything. It is a painful story to read. Yet, at the end, he prayed for his friends. Job had realized he was nothing and God is God. Nothing is impossible for Him. As Job said, “I’m convinced: You can do anything and everything. Nothing and no one can upset your plans.”
And so Job quit living on rumors of God and encountered Him directly. “I admit I once lived by rumors of you; now I have it all firsthand—from my own eyes and ears! I’m sorry—forgive me. I’ll never do that again, I promise! I’ll never again live on crusts of hearsay, crumbs of rumor.” What a change this made in Job’s life.
After that, he could pray for his friends. And my oh my, how God blessed him.
After Job had interceded for his friends, God restored his fortune—and then doubled it! Job 42:10
No one is impervious to God's word
How many times have I said something, meaning it, and then did not follow through? Too many times for sure.
God is not that way. He means what He says. He follows through. He sees the real issue. He gets right to the heart of the matter. Our job is to listen and obey. There is no escape so we might as well believe and move ahead.
God means what he says. What he says goes. His powerful Word is sharp as a surgeon’s scalpel, cutting through everything, whether doubt or defense, laying us open to listen and obey. Nothing and no one is impervious to God’s Word. We can’t get away from it—no matter what. Hebrews 4:12-13
May I experience the power of God’s word. May I trust Him and obey Him.
God shuts them up
Our leaders don’t always get it. They plot, the conive, they think they are in control. They defy God and think they are free from Him.
He has shut them up. Jesus came and established His rule and authority. His world and government has triumphed the present world order. Nothing is impossible for Him. He is in control. He has been inaugerated already. He has already won the victory.
Why the big noise, nations? Why the mean plots, peoples?
Earth-leaders push for position,
Demagogues and delegates meet for summit talks,
The God-deniers, the Messiah-defiers:
“Let’s get free of God!
Cast loose from Messiah!”
Heaven-throned God breaks out laughing.
At first he’s amused at their presumption;
Then he gets good and angry.
Furiously, he shuts them up:
“Don’t you know there’s a King in Zion? A coronation banquet
Is spread for him on the holy summit.”
Psalm 2:1-6
What is it all about?
God is great – Nothing is impossible for Him. He can and does anything. He redeems us. He saves us. He heals us. He restores us. We will speak of His great and mighty work.
God is God – He is in control. He has always been and always will be. This is not a democracy. Democracies are a good form of government but His government is not a democracy. His way of doing things is what is important. The way He does it in heaven is the way we want it done here on earth.
God is good – He is always good. He is perpetually in a good mood. He is not upset with us, the redeemed. We are His children and He is doing so many good things for us. We are His friends and He will do anything it takes to help us out. We are His bride and His love for us is passionate beyond imagination.
More to come!! With Gods help, this is good stuff for sure.
