What do we have to fear?

Mary did not have anything to fear. She had found favor with God. In the world’s way, she had lots to fear. An unwed mother with a stunning story of how it happened.

In God’s world, she had nothing to fear. Nothing is impossible with God. If you know you have favor with God, you will not fear anything. The two are connected. Do you know you have favor with God?

  • We have found favor with Him.
  • We have nothing to fear.
  • Jesus was born, lived a life of supernatural courage, died to take care of our problems and rose again in Power.

But the angel said to her, “Do not be afraid, Mary, you have found favor with God. You will be with child and give birth to a son, and you are to give him the name Jesus.” Luke 1:30-31

Do you need encouragment?

October 24, 2012 Leave a comment

Mary didn’t know it yet but she needed encouragement. God has a wonderful way of building us up before we need it. At this point in the story, she was clueless what was about to happen. She was engaged to be married but a virgin. God sent a messenger to let her know what an amazing woman she was.

AND, God was with her. She needed to know that. She needed confidence even though she didn’t know it. She would find out soon enough. But first things first. That is God’s way.

So … she would learn more soon. But to get started, God encouraged her. That is his way.

Is it my way? Do I encourage first? May it be so.

In the sixth month of Elizabeth’s pregnancy, God sent the angel Gabriel to the Galilean village of Nazareth to a virgin engaged to be married to a man descended from David. His name was Joseph, and the virgin’s name, Mary. Upon entering, Gabriel greeted her: Good morning! You’re beautiful with God’s beauty, Beautiful inside and out! God be with you. Luke 1:26-28
