How will we roll?

November 28, 2012 2 comments

Our God is removing the curse of missing His goal for our life. His life is filling us with all we need to live. It is like a river giving us refreshment. The water He gives is completely pure. It is growing in us the fruit of His love.

We are going to reign with Him for ever and ever. And that is a mighty long time.

No curse. Just billions and billions of years of being with Jesus. Now that is some good stuff.

Then the angel showed me the river of the water of life, as clear as crystal, flowing from the throne of God and of the Lamb down the middle of the great street of the city. On each side of the river stood the tree of life, bearing twelve crops of fruit, yielding its fruit every month. And the leaves of the tree are for the healing of the nations. No longer will there be any curse. … And they will reign for ever and ever. Revelation 22:1-5

Are you lukewarm? Do you love being that way?

Francis Chan on being lukewarm. 40 minutes but well worth it. This is important.

Are you luke warm about Jesus?

Powerful message from Francis Chan.

“Knowing the correct password—saying ‘Master, Master,’ for instance—isn’t going to get you anywhere with me. What is required is serious obedience—doing what my Father wills. I can see it now—at the Final Judgment thousands strutting up to me and saying, ‘Master, we preached the Message, we bashed the demons, our God-sponsored projects had everyone talking.’ And do you know what I am going to say? ‘You missed the boat. All you did was use me to make yourselves important. You don’t impress me one bit. You’re out of here.’ (Matthew 7:21 The Message)

“I know you inside and out, and find little to my liking. You’re not cold, you’re not hot—far better to be either cold or hot! You’re lukewarm. You’re stale. You’re stagnant. You make me want to vomit. You brag, ‘I’m rich, I’ve got it made, I need nothing from anyone,’ oblivious that in fact you’re a pitiful, blind beggar, threadbare and homeless.” (Revelation 3:16 The Message)

Is God making everything new?

October 26, 2012 Leave a comment

He walks over to me. He reaches out His hand. Slowly He wipes away my tears. He dries them off very carefully. No more mourning. No more crying. No more pain. That is all in the past. The new plan has kicked in. He is making everything according to the new plan. His goal and His strategy is now the order of the day. Not there yet but closer every day. He is in control. He is in power and will bring every aspect of the plan to a close. He executes every detail. No worry or concern.

I can count on it. It is a fact. I can write it down for He is faithful to bring it all to pass. The new plan is done.

‘He will wipe every tear from their eyes. There will be no more death’ or mourning or crying or pain, for the old order of things has passed away.’ He who was seated on the throne said, ‘I am making everything new!’ Then he said, ‘Write this down, for these words are trustworthy and true.’ He said to me: ‘It is done. Revelation 21:4-6

Want wisdom? It is all about knowing Jesus better

I long to know Jesus better. That is it. That is the BIG thing I want in my life. Jesus only did what He saw His Father doing. He set the clear example for us. That is it for sure where I need to be going with things.

I want His intelligence. I want His wisdom. I desire discernment in knowing Jesus personally. But the end of it all is to know Him better.

I keep asking that the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the glorious Father, may give you the Spirit of wisdom and revelation, so that you may know him better. Ephesians 1:17

Count on it

Someone has to be put in charge of capturing what God is saying. He is revealing so much to us. It needs care because His words stand out (are Holy). “Religion” and religious people create some interesting challenges. “Religious” people can abandon the mission they have been given. If we have put our faith in them and not in Him, who can we trust? Well, God always keeps His word. That is that and that is all there is to that.

He can’t be rejected because He is always faithful. If He has said it, we can count on it.

First, there’s the matter of being put in charge of writing down and caring for God’s revelation, these Holy words of His. So, what if, in the course of doing that, some religious people have abandoned their post? God didn’t abandon them. Do you think their faithlessness cancels out his faithfulness? Not on your life! Depend on it: God keeps his word even when the whole world is lying through its teeth. His word says the same: Your words stand fast and true; Rejection doesn’t faze you. Romans 3:2-6

The whole package

What is in a name? In baseball, it doesn’t really make a difference. With Jesus, it makes a difference what the name is. He is so many things to me. He is the whole package.
He is the Lamb who takes away my sin. He came to liberate me from the paycheck of sin, which is death. And he has!! The sacrifice that was required has been made.

He is also the Lion of the tribe of Judah who has triumphed. He has defeated my enemy. In this case, he is no lamb. He is the strong lion who protects me.

He is all this and more. Oh how sweet is the name of our Master Jesus.

  • Then one of the elders said to me, “Do not weep! See, the Lion of the tribe of Judah, the Root of David, has triumphed. He is able to open the scroll and its seven seals.” Revelation 5:5
