Am I transparent enough?
I am to be a light. I should bring out God’s colors into the world. He is not a secret to be kept from those I come in contact with. I should go public. I have seen cities on a hill. There is no mistaking them. They are not hidden. My ability to reveal Him should be the same way. In my house, I don’t light a light and then cover it up. What would be the point?
Let your light shine before men in such a way that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father who is in heaven. Matthew 5:16

Am I willing to dance in the bright light of Jesus?
He is the light. He is the only light.
Will I dance in His light for all to see?
Yes, my Lord, I will.
Monsters in the closet
I remember as a child not wanting to sleep in the dark. There were monsters in the closet and under the bed. The light helped. It always does.
There is something about the light. Jesus is the light. He drives out the darkness and all fear.

Mere Busywork?
I am interested in how much of my time is “mere busywork”. Now stuff has to get done; there is laundry, cleaning, dishes and meals. I don’t think that is what today’s scripture (Ephesians 5:15-20) means. Times where I have “the chance” to do what “the Master wants” as opposed to the dark world where the enemy entices me to do what I want; what choice do I make? Each day is made of these moments.
- Am I evaluating my time in the light of what the Master wants?
- Is this what the Master wants me to do right now?
- When I am not doing what the Master wants, do I see that as a fraud to the way He wants me live?
May I drink huge draughts of the Spirit of God. May I understand what the Master wants.
Don’t waste your time on useless work, mere busywork, the barren pursuits of darkness. Expose these things for the sham they are. It’s a scandal when people waste their lives on things they must do in the darkness where no one will see. Rip the cover off those frauds and see how attractive they look in the light of Christ.
Wake up from your sleep, Climb out of your coffins; Christ will show you the light! So watch your step. Use your head. Make the most of every chance you get. These are desperate times!
Don’t live carelessly, unthinkingly. Make sure you understand what the Master wants.
Don’t drink too much wine. That cheapens your life. Drink the Spirit of God, huge draughts of him. Sing hymns instead of drinking songs! Sing songs from your heart to Christ. Sing praises over everything, any excuse for a song to God the Father in the name of our Master, Jesus Christ. Ephesians 5:15-20
The claim
Jesus is the light of the entire world. What He said and did guides us along the path we take every day. He directed us to love God and to love one another. That is the light. To live otherwise is a desperate lie. This is the life we share with one another.
May I live in the light that Jesus sheds on my path. May I not wander off into darkness.
If we claim that we experience a shared life with him and continue to stumble around in the dark, we’re obviously lying through our teeth—we’re not living what we claim. But if we walk in the light, God himself being the light, we also experience a shared life with one another, as the sacrificed blood of Jesus, God’s Son, purges all our sin. 1 John 1:6-7
