What was the end in Jesus mind?

Jesus knew why He was here. He knew how it would end. He knew He would go through the worst time possible.

What was the end in His mind? Not the sorrow or the crucifixion. It was the glorification. He knew what He had to go through to get to the glorification and for the sheer joy of it, he endured.

And so, we benefit from God’s new plan. We have gone through it with Him.

Jesus replied, ‘The hour has come for the Son of Man to be glorified. Very truly I tell you, unless a kernel of wheat falls to the ground and dies, it remains only a single seed. But if it dies, it produces many seeds. Those who love their life will lose it, while those who hate their life in this world will keep it for eternal life.

Whoever serves me must follow me; and where I am, my servant also will be. My Father will honor the one who serves me. ‘Now my soul is troubled, and what shall I say? ‘Father, save me from this hour’? No, it was for this very reason I came to this hour. John 12:23-27

Is it a normal day?

They must have talked about it their whole lives long. Surely they did. How could they not? It probably started out just like a normal day. They were probably doing normal things. But then Jesus interrupted and said “Come on with me.” So Peter, James and John followed the Messiah up the mountain.

And then out of the blue, His face suddenly shone like the sun! His clothes became dazzling white like a flash of lightening! Then Elijah and Moses! And just when they probably thought there was nothing more they could possibly see and believe– a cloud and the Voice of God Himself. “This is my Son, whom I love.” They were so frightened they threw themselves physically to the ground. They were awestruck with the supernatural Power of God.

Jesus knew all along it was going to happen. He took them with him on purpose to see it. And he wanted them to talk about it their whole life long.

He wants us to see it. He wants us to talk about it our whole life long.


We did not follow cleverly invented stories when we told you about the power and coming of our Master Jesus the Messiah, but we were eyewitnesses of his majesty. For he received honor and glory from God the Father when the voice came to him from the Majestic Glory, saying, “This is my Son, whom I love; with him I am well pleased.” We ourselves heard this voice that came from heaven when we were with him on the sacred mountain.
2 Peter 1:16-18

Will I grow?

What a gift it is to know our Master Jesus. It isn’t anything I have earned. Our Father just loves me so much that He gives me this amazing opportunity. That is His grace (gift).

May I grow in knowing Jesus today.  To know Him is to love Him. And to be able, because of that love, to love others. I am not there yet. I can grow in knowledge of Him. That is the focus.

Grow is the charge.  Grow. Grow in grace. Grow in knowledge. That is the glory I must focus on.

Grow in the grace and knowledge of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. To him be glory both now and forever! Amen.  2 Peter 3:18

Can peace be multiplied?

It just keeps rolling on. Over and over again. His grace. His peace. Multiplying infinitely and never stopping. This happens as I deepen my experience with God and Jesus. This is what I want to experience in a life of pleasing God. My relationship with Him should be personal and intimate. We should be friends. Jesus has given me a ticket to participate in the life of God. I have turned my back on a corrupt world.

May I see His amazingly divine POWER!!!

Grace and peace be multiplied to you in the knowledge of God and of Jesus our Lord; seeing that His divine power has granted to us everything pertaining to life and godliness, through the true knowledge of Him who called us by His own glory and excellence. 2 Peter 1:2-4

Can I?

Can I Allow God to have complete liberty in my life when I speak? Can I?

Before God’s message can liberate other people, His liberation must first be real in me. I must gather my material carefully, and then allow God to “set my words on fire” for His glory.

It starts in my heart.

Like the "energizer bunny" but only real

Some days things don’t look good. All I have to do is listen to the news to know that. Bad news at every turn. That is the way of the world.

God has a goal that has nothing to do with that. We don’t lose heart when we are listening to Him. It doesn’t matter what is going on around us. Trouble brings His mighty and awesome outcomes. We see a reality, in Him, that others don’t know exists. We have our gaze fixed on Him. Today’s trouble is no comparison to His love which goes on like Him, forever. There is no end to it. Like the “energizer bunny” but only real.

Therefore we do not lose heart. Though outwardly we are wasting away, yet inwardly we are being renewed day by day. For our light and momentary troubles are achieving for us an eternal glory that far outweighs them all. So we fix our eyes not on what is seen, but on what is unseen, since what is seen is temporary, but what is unseen is eternal. 2 Corinthians 4:16-18 TNIV Bible

Count yourself fortunate

Some people don’t get what God is doing. They see His powerful Spirit working in us and are confused about what it means. They ridicule, scoff, mock and minimize His mighty work. When that happens, we are fortunate. Nothing like some abuse heaped on us because of Him.

If you’re abused because of Christ, count yourself fortunate. It’s the Spirit of God and his glory in you that brought you to the notice of others. 1 Peter 4:14

May I consider myself fortunate when others don’t get Him.

Start to finish

Jesus came to us where we are. He moved into the neighborhood. Not in a distant way but near. The everlasting Son of our Father became like us. He became flesh and blood. He had feelings like us. He was tempted like us. He succeeded and establish a whole new government on this earth of ours. His new plan is so superiour.

He became a one of a kind glory. Absolutely perfect. No defect or missing the mark at all. He was just like the Father. Everything He did was what He saw His Father doing. He is generous in and out. From start to finish is absolutely amazing.

His glory

When I see miracles, I am seeing the glory of God. In this passage, Martha was doubting that Jesus could raise her brother Lazarus from the dead. Of course, we know how the story ended. She didnt. She was on the front end of the miracle.

There are lots of days that I am standing on the front end of the miracle. My job is to believe Jesus. When I do, I see His glory.

May I believe Jesus. May I see His glory. 

Then Jesus said, “Did I not tell you that if you believed, you would see the glory of God?” John 11:40

My imagination

I am not thinking big enough. My imagination is limited in ways I can’t grasp. I ask for catfish and He gives me Tilapia. His power is in me. I need to ask for more. If I think God wants to comfort a dear friend who is sick, why don’t I ask Him to completely heal them? If I think a family member needs salvation, why don’t I ask for complete deliverance?

My limitations are my limitations. Nothing is impossible with God. He wants to do stunning things.

May I expand my view to the possibilities that my all powerful God can do and not what I am willing to settle for.

 

Now to him who is able to do immeasurably more than all we ask or imagine, according to his power that is at work within us, to him be glory in the church and in Christ Jesus throughout all generations, for ever and ever! Amen. Ephesians 3:20-21

Just a little lower

I am stunned at how our Father sees me compared to how I see myself. He sees me as a friend who He loves to crown with His glory. He honors me. He has made me a ruler in His Kingdom. Not how I see myself some days. Everything He has for me is mine.

May I get in my heart God’s reality. May I see myself as He sees me!!

You have made them a little lower than the heavenly beings and crowned them with glory and honor. You made them rulers over the works of your hands; you put everything under their feet: all flocks and herds, and the animals of the wild, the birds in the sky, and the fish in the sea, all that swim the paths of the seas. Psalm 8:5-8
